What does Christmas mean to you? Well for me Christmas means a day where family can come together and praise, worship, and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is also a part of an amazing season where you sit inside due to the glistening fresh white snow outside your door and watch Christmas movies such as Home Alone, Elf, and A Christmas story, while you watch your movie you drink your hot chocolate or eggnog. Or if you are more like me, you are up on the mountain doing winter mountain activities such as snowmobiling, sledding, or skiing and snowboarding.

Along with amazing movies, Christmas has many Christmas songs. It is one day of the year other than your birthday where you get many gifts just for yourself. Even though you get many gifts and you get to watch good movies and listen to good music that is not what Christmas is about, It is about the worship and celebration of Christ It is the main reason for this amazing holiday, the birth of a man that died to save us from our sins. 

When I hear the word Christmas, I think of lights on the house, ornaments hanging from the tree, giant glistening star that stands high above on the top of the Christmas tree, carolers going door-to-door singing songs and spreading Christmas cheer all across town, and the happiness and excitement of when little kids wake up and go out into the living room and see the all the presents in shiny green and red wrapping paper and their stockings filled to the top. Thats what I think when I hear the word Christmas.

I then went around and interviewed others on what they think of when they hear the word Christmas, 8th grader Jennifer Lainez said that she thinks of, trees, red and green, presents, snow, fuzzy apparel, blankets and hot drinks, and the Christmas movie The Princess Switch.

Next I asked 8th grader Dominic Swanson and he said that he thinks of, sales, family, food, and the movie Elf.

The only thing that surprised me is that not a single a person that I interviewed never said that they thought of Jesus.
